What are your New Year's READolutions?

We'd love to hear them! Post them in the comments below. Here are some ideas to get you started:

Read:
  • the 2016 Read Brave book
  • a book published this year
  • a book you can finish in a day
  • a book you’ve been meaning to read
  • a book recommended by your local librarian
  • a book chosen for you by a friend or sibling
  • a book chosen for you by a parent/guardian or teacher
  • a book that won an award
  • a book published before you were born
  • a book that intimidates you
  • a book you’ve already read at least once
Do:
  • attend a 2016 Read Brave event
  • keep a list of the books you read
  • keep a reading journal
  • visit your library at least once each month
  • recommend a favorite book to a friend
  • write a book blurb to display at your library
  • write a book review for the Teen Book Club blog

Next meeting: This Saturday, January 9th!

Hey, Teens!

Our next book club meeting will be this Saturday, January 9 at 3:00 p.m. Here's what we've got planned:

~ READolutions! Snowflake craft! Snacks!

~ I requested copies of many of the books you recommended to each other at the last meeting. This way, they should be available for check out right away. (Don't forget your library card!)

~ We have a limited number of copies of our new Read Brave title to give out at the meeting. If you aren't able to come, please let me know, and if we have extra copies, I will try to save one for you at the desk to pick up.

~ We’d love your input on the Teen Area at the Hamline Midway Library. Our interior designer, Jen, has prepared some great redecoration examples and ideas for us. Bring your awesome sense of color & style, and be ready to share your thoughts.

Remember: If you are new to book club, or haven't been for awhile, we'd love to have you join us.

Hope to see you at the library on Saturday, January 9!
